The Alzheimer’s Miracle Network
What if a network of a million or more donors came together determined
to do whatever it takes to end Alzheimer’s disease? And what
if we had no doubt that this result would be achieved in 10 years
or less? Would we let another day go by before getting started?
The Goal/Vision
The Alzheimer’s Miracle Network raises enough money (anywhere
from $100 million/year to over $500 million/year) to fully fund
the research necessary to end Alzheimer’s disease in 10 years
or less. Alzheimer’s will cease to exist in the same way that
Polio and Tuberculosis no longer exist. And it’s about time!
We are committed to giving this gift to the world.
Some examples of promising recent research findings: • Memantine,
a drug approved for use in Europe and being tested in the U.S.,
has shown promise in slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s
disease. • Curcumin, a substance in the spice turmeric which
is a staple in Indian food (India has the lowest incidence of Alzheimer’s
in the world), has been shown in animal studies to be effective
in protecting the brain from the build-up of plaque-like substances
linked to Alzheimer’s disease.
How It Works
To create the Alzheimer’s Miracle Network we use the principles
of multi-level marketing as a force for good. It starts with one
person who recruits 3 people to join the Network. Those 3 each agree
to recruit 3 more and the Network becomes 9, then 27, and then 81,
and so on. When the Network has extended out for 12 or 13 levels,
there will be over 1 million members in the Network!
Each member of the Network agrees to send a check ($50, $100, or
more depending on each person’s resources) to a designated
Alzheimer’s research agency once each year on a specific date.
In addition, each member of the network commits to being responsible
for ensuring that his/her 3 recruits participate each year, and
that these 3 do what it takes to ensure that their recruits participate.
To ensure continued participation, we use encouragement, inspiration,
persistent reminding – whatever it takes to get the job done.
Key Features of the Network
• The Network is long-term (a permanent and continuous funding
vehicle) and a creator of miracles in the world.
• Participants identify with and care deeply about the cause.
• Because each member of the Network is an active participant
in its creation, each member has a strong sense of identity with
the Network.
• The strength of the Network lies in commitments
made between individuals (usually between family and/or
good friends).
At some deep level each of us knows that we
are born for giving – giving to life. Our soul is attracted
to and energized by opportunities to give to life. This is such
an opportunity. So join us. Be part of the joyous experience of
helping reach this important goal. Once and for all, let’s
put an end to the devastation Alzheimer’s disease brings to
families throughout the world.
