My Story
Some people say that it would be impossible to have idea to change the world for the better. All of their thoughts would be changed if they heard the story of a boy named Trevor and one extra-credit homework assignment.

Trevor started out with three ordinary people, and did a good deed for each of them. When they asked to pay it back to him, Trevor would tell them to “Pay It Forward” and do a good deed for three more people. This is how I took part in the world changing event.

I washed my mother’s car for my first project. It was difficult to finish this because the car doesn’t get home until 5:30 p.m. and the sun goes down soon after that. The solution to this was that I would wash the war on the weekend when my mom doesn’t work. My mom was shocked to see how clean her car was. Four days later, she helped a teacher that broke her nose in a car accident by making her lasagna. I know that she will do two more good deeds because my mom helps people every day by teaching and the only difference would be that she would have to tell each person that she helped to try to pass their joy onto three more people.

For my second deed, I raked my neighbor’s yard. It rained on the first two days that I scheduled to rake. The next day I was lucky and I had time to finish after school. My neighbor was astounded when he saw the difference from when he left to go to work to when he got home. I believe that because my neighbor works long hours, it may take a long time, but he will finish helping three people. I think this because I know him fairly well and he is always kind and helpful to anyone in need.

Finally, the last person that I helped was my father. He had a migraine, so I cooked dinner for him. I had trouble finding a good deed to do before the deadline. First, I tried to help a student clean out his locker. I had a tough time trying to find a peer that needed help, so at the last minute, I changed to cooking dinner. My dad was grateful because he had a migraine and heat always makes his head have searing pain. I expect that he will pay it forward to more people because I know that my dad is a responsible man and he never breaks a promise.

So that’s the story of how I started a chain in one of the most famous movements in the world. My advice to anyone that would like to start a pay it forward movement of their own would be to start out with three people and do a kind thing for each of them. After each deed, just tell the people that they should do a good deed for three more people and pass it on and on. I hope you enjoyed my story and will try to share all of your joy with others.
