My name is John Beranek. I work with an adult Pay It Forward group from South Dakota. We are excited to share with you one of our stories.

We have been working for three years on raising money publically to be given away privately.

Our group involved many creative performers. We recently held a fundraiser on behalf of the local Homeless Coalition. This is the first event in which we determined where the money would be going.

After I worked with homeless people in Washington DC, I decided I wanted to do something in my hometown. I met with the homeless Coalition and our group put together a benefit to raise awareness of this sad issue.

The event was called One Starry Night and nearly 400 people attended. We used the funds to create an awareness campaign that has just begun.
