Whew, what a
Valentines party! The 26 children in my kindergarten class had been
waiting all day for this great event. Our class is a mix of races
and incomes, weighing heavier toward the low income end of the scale.
They left the room on the way to gym class with extra smiles and
extra energy. I sat for the first time during the day, it seemed,
to go through my mail. Among the memos and junk mail, I found a
letter from Trevor McKinney, someone I'd never heard of. Imagine
my surprise when a $50 bill fluttered out of the letter onto my
desk. As I read the letter, I was amazed at the kindness of, well,
I don't know who! It must be someone very special who is aware of
the great need of so many of my students. I am still so flabbergasted,
that I haven't decided what to do with it yet, but I know it will
be used to make some wonderful children very happy. I don't know
who to thank, but I do know that this foundation is providing a
wonderful service, and I fully intend to "Pay it Forward"
myself. You made my day! Thanks!
