Hello!
My name is Mary Kemp. I am a Paraprofessional at Maywood Middle School
in Corning, California. I work in the Special Ed Dept. And I am very
active with all of our youth in our school. I am the advisor for "Club
Live." Keeping kids out of harms way and giving back to the community,
while helping them give to the community. Yesterday I began challenging
our students at Maywood to "PIF". We have approximately
600 students at the site. I am very excited about promoting such an
incredible movement. The kids seem excited as well. I asked them to
do the math and see just how big it gets. I will check back around
Thanksgiving and give you some of their stories.
Last year around Christmas is when I finished reading the book PIF.
I work with so many wonderful people at a small middle school in Corning,
CA. We have about 600 students attending the middle school, and about
55 or so staff including teachers. Each day before Christmas break
I snuck a little something in their boxes. Not all at once. Random
acts. It was amazing to hear them as they got their gifts, mugs, chocolate,
cards, flower etc. I heard some of them talk saying, "It must
be the parent club." All of them have generous hearts and give
fully to their jobs and the children at the school. When you're involved
with young teens, some days are tough. Some days you wonder if you're
getting through to them. The random acts lit up faces, wondering who
would be next and why. It was very fun. Now I have challenged the
entire school to Pay it forward. I am anxious to see the results.
Sincerely,
Mary Kemp
